Description
The Department of Criminal Justice at Temple University seeks applicants for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to begin Fall 2025. The teaching load is 2-2. We will consider all research area specializations, but we will prioritize candidates with a strong applied research agenda in the following area(s): 1) community violence reduction and/or crime prevention, 2) criminal justice and public health and/or health criminology. Requirements
Applicants must have a PhD in Criminology, Criminal Justice or a related discipline, which includes, but is not limited to, public health, sociology, psychology, human development, and urban studies. Highly qualified ABDs may be considered if evidence can be shown that completion of the PhD will occur prior to the position start date. Individuals holding only a JD degree will not be considered. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of high-quality scholarship and research productivity and success securing external research funding that is commensurate with rank. We seek faculty who can provide engaging undergraduate and graduate learning experiences for students, and who have a strong interest in contributing to doctoral education and working with a diverse group of students and scholars.
