Ro Health School Clinical Supervisor - Job Description
The School Health Clinical Supervisor (SHCS) provides training, mentoring, and supervision of nurse providers working in the school setting, including those working with students individually or staffing the school health office. Using clinical knowledge and judgment, the Clinical Supervisor will help coordinate school health services and act as a liaison between Ro Health nurses and support staff, school district nurses and personnel, and families to provide safe and effective health care for the students we serve.
The SHCS is an experienced nurse with appropriate credentials and clinical background. The position requires local travel, flexibility with daily priorities, and the ability to successfully train staff, including new graduates. The SHCS is part of an Area Team and reports to the Area Manager and School Clinical Operations Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Training and Orientation: Conduct new provider orientations, skills training, and annual refresher courses for nurses.
Supervision and Placement: Supervise RNs and LVNs and assist in placing nurses in school positions based on their experience.
Clinical Expertise: Provide clinical guidance, review and create health care plans, and liaise between staff, school personnel, and families.
Communication: Clarify and report on health care provider orders, attend initial care days, and address parent or provider concerns.
Documentation and Reporting: Review and complete incident reports, follow up as needed, and ensure proper documentation and record retention.
Quality Improvement: Assist with evaluations, quality improvement initiatives, and corrective action plans.
Requirements
Current Registered Nurse License for state(s) of job location(s). You may need licensing in more than one state.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred and may be required.
Pediatric experience - 2-3 years minimum
Previous School Nursing experience a plus
School Nurse or Public Health Nurses Credential required in some markets
